A friend recommended me to try this so I went recently, the portion and the meat were superb. Worth trying

After moving to their new location, shop is very airy and clean. Portions are still generous even tho the prices have gone up. Its still one of our favorite ngiu chap in KK

Great service. The person who took our orders speaks English which is a big plus! This branch is along the way to Kundasang. So make it a stop along the way. The broth is perfectly done. I can just drink the soup and not have anything else. the dry noodles is nicely seasoned. The beef slices are tender and smooth. Even the brisket is soft and falls apart easily. This is a local’s choice from what I found out.

If you're a fan of ngiu chap, Kedai Kopi Nyuk Pau Baru in Menggatal is a must-visit. In my personal opinion, this is hands down the best ngiu chap I've had—rich, flavorful broth with tender beef cuts that are cooked just right. Every spoonful feels like comfort in a bowl. One thing that really stands out here is the sambal lada. It’s not the same as what you get at other branches—spicier, more aromatic, and clearly made with extra care. It complements the ngiu chap perfectly and gives the whole dish an extra kick. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but honestly, it’s worth every sen. The quality, taste, and portion make it a satisfying meal. On top of that, the service is excellent—fast, friendly, and attentive even when the place gets busy. This place truly sets the bar for ngiu chap in Sabah. Highly recommended for anyone craving a hearty, unforgettable local meal.
